Reporting to the Lead Producer, the Producer is responsible for managing online development projects for FT while liaising with all parts of the business.
Key Tasks
Day to day management of online projects, the Producer's key tasks include:
- Manage and deliver a number of concurrent projects for FT (B2B websites and products).
- Ensuring appropriate methodologies are followed in the delivery of projects, so business requirements, quality, time and budget are met
- Work with Lead Producer, IT managers, product owners and business owners to ensure that projects are properly scoped, prioritised, and planned.
- Manage third party contributions to the project as appropriate.
- During planning stages the ability to apply information architecture, usability and accessibility heuristics and best practice
- Create and manage documentation related to the technical, functional and administrative delivery of the project
- Plan the project and tasks monitoring the progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective actions as appropriate.
- Manage the project budget, monitor expenditure against delivered and realised benefits as the project progresses.
- Provide technical support for editorial content management and new media initiatives and products
- Keep up-to-date with new developments within the industry
Essential Skills
- Proven project management experience. Has delivered concurrent projects of differing scale, including projects with complex dependencies covering infrastructure, application development, and business change activities. Possess a successful track record for delivering time-sensitive technology projects in an online environment.
- Experience with different project management and software development methodologies including Prince2.
- Experience of content management and web publishing technologies· Able to understand business processes and enable technology solutions to support business needs.
- Excellent communication skills
- Capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines

- Development background to ensure understanding of design and development concepts
- Experience of Agile methodologies
- Background in publishing, online and offline· Degree (or similar) related to new media
