Job Purpose
The Agency Sales Team sits within the FT’s Commercial Department and is responsible for selling advertising, integrated solutions and sponsorship into all FT products within the FT Group.

The Agency Account Manager will be responsible for key London based media agencies across both UK and International clients.

Our UK sales team sits within the FT’s commercial department. This award winning department prides itself on its professional approach and ability to exceed its revenue targets through intelligent, creative and thought provoking sales techniques.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate that they are tenacious, have a desire to succeed and have a knowledge of the world of business. To succeed in this highly competitive environment, candidates should have a professional approach to business, be able to communicate clearly to both internal and external contacts, be self sufficient and motivated.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
• To sell the full range of FT Group products to UK and International agencies.
• Achieve sales and market share objectives and grow business year on year.
• Identify and develop new advertising, integrated partnership and sponsorship solutions both on and off brief.
• Identify, nurture and maintain strong agency relationships at all levels across Implementational Planning, Buying and Strategic Planning teams.
• Identify and grow key development clients and deficit business within the allocated agency portfolio. These clients are identified from analysis of the balance sheet associated to the business agency patch.
• Liaise closely with EMEA colleagues in Client and Display Sales teams based in the UK and globally, to promote an integrated sales approach for multinational clients.
• To fully understand the value of the FT brand as a premium global media organisation, what it stands for, its purpose, the FT’s key selling points and the opportunities this provides to clients.
• To have industry leading knowledge of the client base within the allocated agency portfolio and use this insight to provide key marketing solutions across all FT Group products.
• To become an industry champion on all areas of the FT, broad marketing theory, research, business (inc. economics, finance, politics), creative thinking and most importantly a champion on the clients and sectors that you will be working with.

We are looking for candidates who already have experience of the following in their current role:
• An appreciation and understanding of business, economics, finance and politics. This is essential to be able to understand and articulate the FT audiences and products.
• A complete knowledge of the print and digital sales process.
• Extensive sales experience.
• To be able to communicate with all levels
• The ability to put together a cohesive sales presentation.
• Excellent Power-point skills.
• Extensive knowledge of syndicated sales research and building robust sales arguments.
• An understanding of B2B and consumer marketing.
• Knowledge of West End advertising agency planning and buying process.

Desirable Skills
Classified Sales experience and training
International print display media experience
Selling a portfolio of products and integrated solutions
