Job Purpose
To be responsible for editing sections on technology and aspects of banking.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Research and write in-depth stories
• Build up knowledge of banking technology (eg core banking systems) and banking services (eg payments, security services)
• Set up and carry out high level interviews
• Manage and write special reports
• Manage awards process and write up awards
• Chair roundtables and edit for print and on-line versions
• Editing The Banker’s website


PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications / Competencies / Skills / Experience
Essential
• Educated to degree level is essential
• Previous journalistic experience (ideally gained from a similar publication)
• Extensive experience of writing and editing finance articles
• Experience of interviewing at a senior level up to CEO, CFO
• Experience of hosting round table events (including online) and writing up the key discussion points
• You should have previous experience of managing and writing an awards
• An interest in emerging markets (particularly Middle East and Africa)
• The ability to generate commercial ideas

Preferred
• Technical knowledge of banking, project management skills

This role will require extensive travel to the relevant regions.
