The position is open immediately and must be based in the US, preferably on the East Coast.
The successful candidate will report to the Global Head of Content for FT Conferences.
Job description and responsibilities:
• Research and write innovative, high-quality programs for Financial Times summits, conferences, roundtables and awards events
• Draw up lists of high-level decision-makers to speak at these events
• Assume full responsibility for inviting and acquiring speakers in any region of the world
• Liaise with FT journalists chairing and/or moderating at our events
• Liaise with marketing department and write copy to help promote events through marketing channels such as the event website, newspaper ads, marketing brochures, etc
• Liaise with the sponsorship and logistics departments of FT Conferences to optimise the running of programmed events
Requirements:
• At least three years' experience producing content for reputable events organisers
• Track record in thinking outside the box to introduce innovative channels for disseminating content at conferences
• Track record in acquiring senior decision-makers as speakers
• High-level, global contacts
• Faultless attention to detail and extremely well written, error-free copy
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
• Ability to work in cooperation with other departments to meet common goals
