The Product Analysts will be part of the Product Development team which is responsible for designing, launching, and managing all digital products that serve our users and advertisers. The ideal candidates will combine product development skills with a passion for building strong customer relationships online.
We currently have 2 Product Analyst vacancies, Products Analyst for Markets data and Product Analyst for Member's products.
The Product Analyst for Markets data, will also help manage a range of products in the FT Business suite, including The Lexicon, The Banker and Foreign Direct Investment (FDi). This person will work closely with and report into the Lead Product Manager to develop and enhance products that will be effective in the market.
The Product Analyst for Member’s products will focus on products for our registered and paying (subscribed) members. These products range from solutions that make the experience of joining simple and effortless to those that offer premium membership benefits. This person will work closely with the Lead Product Manager to develop and enhance products that will be effective in the market.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Purpose
• To help deliver new products and enhance existing features and services within the FT.com product development team.
• To help shape the future product roadmap using user feedback and managing the backlog of work.
• Success in this role would consist of developing a truly compelling proposition which exceed user expectations (based on research), and meet the needs of the business and commercial stakeholders.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide analysis and interpretation of the performance of key FT.com products to inform product development priorities.
• Liaise with all parts of the FT business in order to ensure products consistently exceed user and stakeholder expectations.
• Track and analyse FT.com’s competitors, feeding ‘best practice’ from competitors into the product development process.
• Provide partner management for 3rd party supplier relationships, and take ownership of ‘business as usual’ enhancements to existing product set.
• Investigate and implement methods for evaluating the success of products with users, and of including user input within the product development process.
• Provide general support to FT.com product team.
• Maintain and update product backlog and track priorities for research products, including content in the Markets Data, Investors Chronicle, FT Business publications such as The Banker and the FT Lexicon.
• Maintain and update the product backlog and track priorities for subscription driving products which include; paid-for content packages, premium news briefings and FT Clippings.
• Support the idea generation process to identify new products or enhancements to drive subscriptions to FT.com.

Essential
• Analytical capabilities – able to gather and analyse quantitative and qualitative data and draw well-founded conclusions
• Good Excel and Powerpoint experience
• A good understanding and strong interest in the online content environment
• Good communication skills – able to clearly write and present documents targeted at various audiences, as well as make presentations to large/small groups
• Ability to balance workloads and priorities throughout the product development lifecycle of a range of products, with a number of 3rd party suppliers
• A good team player
• Ability to continually improve product management processes and methodologies
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Ability to work autonomously, putting strong processes and structures in place.
• Ability to express opinion about the way online products should work, backing up opinions with data and well-structured cases.
