Job Purpose
FT.com is growing fast with new products and a new revenue model all impacting the growth and profitability of the site. The online management accountant will work closely with the Head of Finance to continually develop Ft.com’s business case, prepare the online P&L and regular reports and assist the department with budgeting, forecasting and other financial analysis.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Preparation of weekly and monthly financials including KPI’s, analyse resultant variances and recommend action.
• Balance sheet account(s) preparation and review of report accounts.
• Assist in preparation of annual operating plan, quarterly re-forecasts and presentations to senior management.
• Work with departments (marketing, product, editorial) to create detailed operating plans.
• Maintain subscription revenue forecasting model.
• Conduct monthly reviews with department heads to track spend to budget, investigate variances and recommend areas of cost saving.
• Take the initiative in seeking to continually improve and simplify business processes.
• Assist in ad hoc projects such as acquisitions, efficiency reviews, and process improvement reviews.
• Business Process Owner for applicable SOX cycle. Recognition of key controls within the processes under their management. Update of narratives, flowcharts and Policy IQ on a monthly basis as applicable.

Qualifications / Competencies / Skills / Experience
Essential
• Minimum part - qualified, with experience in a management accounting environment.
• The ability to work closely and communicate effectively with Senior Management.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Ability to work accurately and to tight deadlines.
• Ability to deal confidently with non-finance staff, communicating financial information clearly and presenting back in a variety of ways.
• Ability to synthesise data and present back key points.
• Good knowledge of IFRS.
Desirable
• Exposure to SUN Accounts and Hyperion applications.
