The Financial Times Editorial Department has a vacancy for an HR assistant in the editorial management team.
We are seeking someone with graduate-level education, preferably already with some experience in HR, who is looking to develop their career.
Duties include liaison with payroll in the UK, completion of monthly payroll instructions, maintenance of salary and headcount data, updating of staff databases, production of statistics, drawing up contract letters, administration of the annual salary review and maintenance of personnel files.
The HR assistant’s job must be performed with meticulous attention to detail and there is a certain amount of routine work that must be completed methodically each month. Once this core administration has been mastered, there is scope for initiative and the opportunity to get involved in the wider HR work of the department.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
• Numeracy and good knowledge of SAP and Excel
• An intelligent, professional and calm approach to work, even when under pressure
• A strong understanding of and commitment to customer service, confidentiality and the need for diplomacy
• Well-developed communications skills and clarity in letter and report writing
• Insight and confidence when dealing with people at all levels
• Ability to prioritise workload, complete tasks swiftly, with a minimum of fuss and supervision
• Enjoyment of a challenge and the opportunity to learn about new areas
• A flexible and collaborative approach.
Applications, which should be by email, should reach Daniel Bogler (daniel.bogler@ft.com) by 20 August.
