JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Marketing Executive will be responsible for maximising market exposure for a range of high-profile events organised under the FT Global Events banner, including conferences, summits, awards, round tables and briefings.
The successful candidate will work productively and effectively to secure high-profile delegates, achieve target delegate numbers and increase delegate revenue on a global scale.
Working alongside the Head of Marketing, the post holder will formulate timely and cost effective marketing plans and implement successful marketing strategies for 20-25 events per year.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Implementation of direct marketing campaigns, including post, email, telephone and face-to-face
- Providing creative input on key marketing collateral, including adverts, brochures and online activity
- Liaising with external suppliers in order to secure high-quality, cost effective services
- Securing ongoing relationships with key contra partners, including industry associations and professional organisations
- Fostering relations, and working closely with, Financial Times and Financial Times Business teams, including editorial, design, production and advertising
Qualifications, Competencies, Skills and Experience
Essential
- Educated to degree standard or equivalent
- Previous B2B marketing experience, preferably obtained in an events or publishing environment is essential
- Demonstrated results in securing high-quality attendee’s, target delegate numbers and forecast delegate revenues
- A thorough and organised approach to managing, and prioritising, a varied and challenging workload
- Excellent project management skills
- Outstanding copy writing skills in devising adverts, letters, brochures, emails and web copy
- Proven ability to work within strict budget constraints
- Accurate proof reading skills along with a keen eye for detail
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes
- Willingness and ability to travel
- An enthusiastic and productive individual with the ability to work effectively as part of a busy team
Desirable
- Fluency in modern business languages, including French, German, Spanish, Arabic, Cantonese or Mandarin
- Experience of, or an interest in, the world of business, especially Banking and Financial Services
